Lake Garda

We are exactly between Venice and Milan few minutes far from Lake Garda, the main Italian lake and one of the most important water reserves in Europe. With its long neck that ends between the rocks of the shores, heritage of the Ice Age, it has always left the different travellers breathless, trying to describe its wonderful colours and reflexes. Northwards, the lake is wedged between the mountains, while southwards it extends in the Plain, between the hills and the gulfs of Peschiera and Desenzano. Thanks to its mild climate, this lake is the most mediterranean among the alpine lakes. Since the prehistory, it has always been a cradle for the different cultures which have been crossing this area.To taste oil, wine and lemons.

Mantova

Mantova is a striking if stern-looking place of fine squares and aristocratic architecture, bordered on three sides by lakes formed by the swollen banks of the River Mincio.
The climate can be humid as a result but Mantova more than makes up for it with a keen sense of cultural history: it was the birthplace of Virgilio and playgroung for three centuries of the Gonzaga dukes.
It was also the birthplace of the artist Mantegna, the refuge where Shakespeare sent Romeo into exile from Verona and the setting for Verdi's opera rigoletto.
The theatrical connections are enhanced by the 18th century Teatro Scientifico Bibiena on via Accademia, which Mozart's father thought was the finest he had ever seen.
